It Happens Now
Seasons Greetings,
Another year has come and gone.
If you are of the younger age group you will probably admit to the
passage of time as being slow. Ye of the older time frame will concur that time seems to march to
a rather rapid beat. No matter what our inclination - time is measured in exact
proportions. It can be measured in mathematical terms and it can be described in
philosophical phrases.
No matter how we choose to regard the moments, the hours, days or
years we cannot escape the inevitable fact that there is only the
immediate ‘NOW’ in which to choose and act. There is no tomorrow, later, maybe, whenever, until…life is a succession of NOW’s.
During my training with the eminent K.S. Jaffrey I was fond of
asking the question ‘Why?’
Mr. Jaffrey fielded my questions with a paternal patience and
guided me toward a more favourable understanding of the principles
of natural living and natural healing - which included an
understanding of the laws of nature as they pertain to our
environment.
However, there was a time when he looked me in the eye and said -
‘You know young fellow, you ask a lot of ‘why’ questions. What you
should really be focused on is asking ‘what do I do - NOW.’
It has been many years since the passing of Mr. Jaffrey but his
words remain as a metronome within my subconscious. And so it is with a fond memory of the past and a fervent desire
for the future that I wish you all the best in coming to terms with
your own ‘NOW.’
